Artist's Comments

In my opinion Katsuhiro Ôtomo is a genius.
I would like nothing more than to see a trilogy of live action films based on his manga masterpiece.

If one is made then here is my attempt at a poster for it.

You've never heaard of Akira?! Go rent it if you can. It's UNBELIEVABLE, the animation is amazing, and the soundtrack is killer.

Loved Akira, and bought the soundtrack. I really liked the ending. The part where Cowry gets smushed inside of Tetsuo is terrible and sad and awesome all at the same time lol. Akira has always been on my list of top Anime movies=)

....But especially find the awesome Manga...it goes WAY beyond the movie....It was released throughout the 90's (in english) by Epic...

fun fact!!::
- AKIRA was the first series to be computer colored..(Epic version)

Yay=) at the end of the movie there is a substantial length of time where they had to animate some complex biological mutations that were happening at high speed. I have no idea how they managed it without being institutionalized lol I think you will highly impressed though. The soundtrack is also quite remarkable, in my opinion. There is one piece in particular that I love that is a lot like striking glasses full of different amounts of water. I hope you see it...it's well worth more than one watch, especially to catch everything=D
